Job Title: Senior Virtualisation Engineer
Team Description:
Join us as a Senior Virtualisation Engineer at Amlgo Labs and be part of a fast-paced operations team supporting VMware environments across multiple data centres. You will collaborate closely with Network, Storage, and Data Centre specialists to manage and optimise multiple VMware clusters.
Role Outline:
- Provide expert-level technical support for VMware products, including v Sphere, ESXi, v Center, and v SAN
- Manage storage and networking resources within a virtualised environment
- Work closely with development teams to enhance automation and operational efficiency
- Monitor, analyse, and optimise the performance and availability of VMware environments
- Contribute to solution integration with existing monitoring and automation toolsets
Role Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in VMware administration and engineering (v Sphere 7+, ESXi, v Center, v SAN)
- Strong knowledge of hardware virtualisation technologies and VMware suite components
- Experience working with multiple enterprise hardware models (Dell, HPe)
- Strong understanding of VMware metro-clusters and storage replication technologies
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Power Shell, Bash
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, Prometheus
- Strong documentation skills and operational awareness
- Experience integrating solutions with tools like v Realize Operations, Log Insight, and automation platforms
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with Enterprise SAN storage (configuration, optimisation, troubleshooting)
- Familiarity or willingness to work with Pure Storage
- VMware VCP or Pure Storage certifications
- Automation scripting experience (Power CLI, Python)
