Job Description
At Elliott Gray, we’re proud to be a long-time sponsor and partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) ACT & South East NSW. We’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact they have on families with seriously ill children, and we’re thrilled to help them find their next Volunteer Coordinator. A role that sits at the heart of their mission.
Why this role matters:
RMHC relies on a dedicated volunteer workforce of over 150 people to deliver programs that support families during their toughest times. Managing this team isn’t just about rosters and admin, it’s about empathy, understanding the nuances of volunteer engagement, and creating a culture where every person feels valued and motivated.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, and recognition.
- Keep volunteers engaged through events, training, and ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate systems and compliance records.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and contribute to daily program success.
- Occasionally assist with events and community engagement activities.
What we’re looking for:
- Heart and head: Someone passionate about RMHC’s mission, with empathy and maturity to manage a diverse volunteer team.
- Experience: Strong administrative skills and experience coordinating volunteers (ideally 150+), plus exposure to events would be a bonus.
- Culture fit: A compassionate, relationship-driven professional who can inspire and motivate others.
- Practicalities: Ability to work flexibly, including some weekends and after-hours, and meet compliance requirements (WWVP check, criminal history check, driver’s licence).
Why join RMHC?
You’ll be part of an organisation that values its people, celebrates diversity, and places families at the centre of everything. This is more than a job; it’s your chance to make a real difference every day.
RMHC are committed to keeping children and young people safe their spaces and do not tolerate any kind of abuse. They implement prevention strategies to reduce the risk of abuse and actively seek to listen, empower, and protect children. Their team, including employees and volunteers, must meet high standards to ensure they prevent and report abuse. All roles are subject to compliance and reference checks and are subject to relevant state/territory legislation.
