Established in 2020, MUFG Global Service Private Limited (MGS) is 100% subsidiary of MUFG having offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. MGS India has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. MGS India has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFG’s global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

Position details / Job summary:
The VP Data Analytics (DA) is responsible for overseeing the planning and delivery of analytics for several audit portfolios. Working in close partnership with the Global DA Director, and the regional DA Directors, the role is responsible for supporting the implementation of the analytics strategy and operating model, ensuring high-quality, consistent outputs that align with audit methodology and business priorities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the DA Director in developing and implementing the long-term vision, strategy, and operating model for Data Analytics globally.
- Help embed the Data Analytics operating model across Internal Audit, ensuring consistent practices and alignment with audit methodology.
- Manage the DA plan for the relevant portfolio, keeping it relevant and aligned with business needs. Proactively propose changes and escalate risks or delivery challenges.
- Contribute to resource planning and capacity management across the analytics team, ensuring optimal allocation of talent and tools to meet strategic objectives. Where applicable, support budget oversight and reporting creation for the Audit Director.
- Oversee analytics delivery across multiple audits, ensuring outputs meet timelines, quality standards, and methodology requirements.
- Maintain an effective process for generating and prioritising analytics test cases to maximise usage and meet analytics KPIs and goals.
- Challenge audit teams where analytics are underused.
- Contribute to analytics testing or ad-hoc projects when needed, upholding high standards of quality and documentation.
- Act as a subject matter expert, helping audit teams translate data insights into clear, impactful findings for senior audiences.
- Support senior management in preparing concise, accurate reporting for governance forums such as Audit and Risk Committees.
- Help design and deliver training to build data literacy across Internal Audit, using practical examples to promote adoption.
- Work with audit teams to understand data needs and collaborate with other departments or senior leadership beyond Internal Audit.
- Responsible for promoting the strategic adoption of data analytics in the delivery of the Internal Audit plan, in alignment with the MUFG Internal Audit strategy.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit colleagues across regions to ensure consistent quality and continuous advancement of analytics practices globally.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders in Internal Audit and the wider business, offering credible challenge and guidance as a respected, independent voice.
- Demonstrate how data analytics enhances audit conclusions and drives tangible improvements in the control environment, helping to raise standards of governance and behaviour.
- Stay informed on emerging industry trends and best practices, sharing relevant insights to ensure MUFG’s analytics capabilities remain aligned with leading audit functions.
- Represent the function in relevant SME forums and industry networks, contributing to the visibility and credibility of MUFG’s Internal Audit analytics agenda.
- Support the DA Director in building a high-performing team by fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and talent development.
- Set clear performance expectations, motivate junior colleagues, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Education, Licensure, Year of Experience (and type of work experience):
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, Mathematics or equivalent with work experience or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, risk management with data analytics work experience
- Relevant audit or technical certifications are preferred. (e.g., Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, CIA, CPA, CFSA)
Skills and Experience :
- 10 years’ experience in data analytics within Internal Audit, Risk, or Control functions, including leadership of technical teams.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex analytics projects across the audit lifecycle and multiple portfolios, including scoping, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, design test strategies, and generate insights that support audit conclusions.
- Experience at delivering or developing AI products, especially using Generative AI, in a work environment is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of risk and control environments, with experience applying analytics to test key controls.
- Proficient in Python or similar languages, with the ability to review and challenge complex technical work.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through reviewing peers’ work and promoting advanced analytics techniques.
- Skilled in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) and querying languages (e.g., SQL.
- Familiar with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake), automation tools (e.g., Power Automate), and platforms like Alteryx.
- Experience contributing to analytics methodologies or tool development.
- Strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Effective project manager, capable of handling a broad portfolio and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
