Job Description Summary

Our Investment and Risk professionals play a key role in using analysis to create insights that enable Nationwide to provide risk solutions to individual and corporate customers and drive business results. Nationwide Specialty Finance employs a research-driven, team-oriented, and results-focused approach to create and manage a wide array of innovative specialty finance insurance solutions like fund financing, structured credit, collateral protection, and residual value. You’ll leverage your investment expertise and strategic vision to oversee underwriting practices, portfolio management, and a team of seasoned professionals. Your role requires you to collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, especially Ryan Specialty, to ensure robust underwriting guidelines and effective risk management. In this position, you are responsible for establishing underwriting strategies, maintaining quality control, and setting portfolio targets that align with Nationwide’s overall risk exposure. You’ll build strong relationships across departments—including Technology, Operations, Actuarial, Finance, Office of Investments and Compliance—to support sound decision-making. You will also design performance and risk measurement tools, identify new product opportunities, and mentor talent to drive business results and growth.
