VP of Engineering

About the Role

Location: New Delhi

We are looking for a hands-on technology leader to architect and scale world-class maps, navigation, and traffic intelligence platforms at MapmyIndia.

This role sits at the intersection of geospatial systems, real-time data platforms, and AI/ML innovation, driving the future of location-based mobility intelligence in India.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & scale high-performance systems for location search, routing, and traffic intelligence.
• Lead development of graph-based routing engines — shortest path, traffic-aware, multimodal, and EV routing.
• Build and enhance real-time traffic ingestion, prediction, and visualization platforms using AI/ML.
• Design cloud-native, microservices-based architectures (AWS/GCP, Kafka, Spark/Flink, Kubernetes).
• Oversee data quality, accuracy, and freshness across GPS, IoT, and crowdsourced data streams.
• Mentor and grow high-performing engineering and data science teams.
• Collaborate with product leaders to align technology strategy with MapmyIndia’s business vision.

Non-Negotiable Core Skills

• Graph-based routing algorithms (shortest path, multimodal, traffic-aware).
• Geospatial technologies & spatial databases (PostGIS, Elasticsearch, Geocoding).
• AI/ML for mobility: route optimization, ETA prediction, traffic forecasting.
• Real-time data platforms: Kafka, Spark/Flink, Kubernetes.
• Cloud expertise: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proven record in scaling large, real-time, data-intensive systems.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
