Job Description
1. Build Brands That Consumers Love
Conduct first-hand consumer research to identify urban household needs
Create and position consumer brands with sharp pricing, packaging, and product design
Launch and iterate fast, first products to shelf within 90 days
Build meaningful sourcing-to-shelf stories that connect farmers and urban families
2. Lead Sales Execution Across Channels
Personally drive distribution and visibility in kiranas, modern retail, and e-commerce
Create GTM playbooks based on ground-level feedback
Drive trials, repeat usage, and velocity through data-driven experimentation
3. Own Product & Supply Chain Development
Work with contract manufacturers and packaging partners
Maintain uncompromised quality, traceability, and compliance
Operate lean and fast, managing unit economics and launch timelines end-to-end
4. Cross-functional & Organisational Leadership
Collaborate with supply chain, category, tech, and finance teams
Inspire internal stakeholders to become brand evangelists
Balance short-term outcomes with long-term brand equity
5. Build & Scale a Rock-star Team
Start as a hands-on player-coach
Hire for consumer first mindset, not just pedigree
Leverage AI and automation to drive efficiency in marketing and operations
6. Drive Marketing & Demand Generation
Execute creative, high-ROI campaigns with lean budgets
Build dual-focused marketing: trade-facing and consumer-facing
Track metrics obsessively and iterate based on real-world insights
The Successful Applicant
12+ years of experience in FMCG, preferably food categories like staples, snacks, beverages, or ready-to-eat
Proven track record of building a consumer brand or private label from 0→1, scaling it to at least ₹25-50 Cr+ in annual revenue
Demonstrated full P&L ownership, responsible for revenue, margins, and profitability over multiple years
Strong consumer-first, with experience building products based on deep consumer insights rather than trade push
Mass-market focus: Built products for urban middle-income Indian households, not just premium/luxury segments
Solid exposure to private label development, including product design, packaging, sourcing, pricing, and go-to-market
Hands-on experience in product development, sourcing, and supply chain coordination
Understand retailer eco-system and comfortable driving sales across channels such as general trade (kiranas), modern trade, e-commerce, and quick commerce
Technology-savvy: Experienced in using data, analytics, and digital platforms for growth, feedback loops, and decision-making
Start-up mindset: Comfortable with speed, ambiguity, lean teams, and direct execution without full-function support
Strong executive presence, able to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive org-wide alignment
Strong Pluses:
Background in tech-first consumer or D2C FMCG companies
Player-coach style, who has personally executed brand building and sales, not just managed teams
Founder or early-stage builder experience in food/CPG
Experience working across both general trade and ecommerce channels
