WAGON SUPERVISOR (Austria)


Age: 18 – 44 years
Weekly Hours: 38.5
Training Duration: 32 weeks
Salary: €37,235/year (trainee); €46,471/year post-training

Overview

Ensures the safety and technical readiness of freight and passenger wagons through inspections, brake tests, and documentation.

Key Duties

  • Inspect wagons for safety and technical issues
  • Perform brake tests
  • Document treatments and defects
  • Label damaged wagons & prepare reports
  • Handle coupling tasks and minor repairs
  • Operate preheating systems
  • Communicate with customers and report issues
  • Support junior staff when needed


Requirements

  • Completed technical apprenticeship
  • Technical school or vocational training preferred
  • Good physical and psychological fitness (EU standards)
  • Willingness for irregular shift work
  • Basic MS Office skills
  • Annual training & knowledge checks
  • Railway vehicle service examination
  • German proficiency: B1 level (certificate required)
