We are seeking an experienced Website Developer / Content Editor to join a leading Queensland Government department. In this role you will be responsible for building, managing, and maintaining a new, standalone public-facing website for the National Level Crossing Safety Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• GovCMS/Drupal Development: Build & Management: Design, build, and manage the complete website using the latest iteration of Drupal deployed on the GovCMS platform.
• Theming and Design: Possess the technical capabilities required for activating and developing the site using GovCMS themes, such as the Civic theme or similar government-approved frameworks.
• Web Standards & Compliance: Ensure the website meets all relevant Australian Government requirements and digital service standards.
• Develop the site and configure content to be aligned with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and Queensland Government style guides.
• Content Management: Demonstrate competency in configuring and editing web content (primarily text-based) within the CMS environment, ensuring accessibility and adherence to style guides.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Web Developer, particularly with high-profile or government websites.
• High-level skills in developing and deploying sites on the Drupal CMS.
• Specific, demonstrable experience working within the GovCMS environment is highly desirable.
• Experience with and understanding of WCAG requirements for development and content editing.
• Strong understanding of Government website development and compliance requirements.
