Wellbeing Counsellor


Location: Inventure Academy, Bangalore

Reports to: Lead – Wellbeing

Experience: Minimum 4 - 6 years (preferably in a school / international school setting)

You will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and the wellbeing team to ensure that wellbeing remains a core pillar of our school culture.


What You’ll Do:

  • Provide individual and group counselling support to students with emotional, social, academic, or behavioral concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while upholding ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Identify early signs of emotional or psychological distress and support timely interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and leadership to support student wellbeing holistically.
  • Participate in case discussions, reviews, and wellbeing planning meetings with the wellbeing team.
  • Support classroom observations, student check-ins, and be involved in all wellbeing initiatives across sections.
  • Contribute to school-wide wellbeing programs and life skill sessions.
  • Assist in crisis management and disciplinary cases with a relational and restorative, student-centered approach.
  • Support data collection, reporting, and wellbeing tracking as guided by the Head of Wellbeing.
  • Actively promote an empathetic, inclusive, and emotionally safe school environment.


What You Bring:

  • Postgraduate degree in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from a reputed University (mandatory).
  • Minimum 4 - 6 years of counselling experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and school-based interventions.
  • Ability to work with diverse emotional needs and cultural backgrounds.
  • High empathy, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
  • Abreast with the latest trends and research in the field of school mental health
  • Good communication, observation, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a team-based wellbeing framework.
