What you will do
• Responsible for review and approval of supplier Quality Control Plans and Inspection Test Plans for, OCTG and API / Proprietary Threading (VAM, JFE, Tenaris, etc.,).
• Steward supplier evaluations and assessments, facility qualifications (such as OCTG Mill and Threading facility) and API Q1 compliance audits.
• Provide assistance to Wells procurement teams to incorporate Wells Quality Manual (WQM) and associated Appendices into quality exhibits for tender documentation packages.
• Lead or support supplier assessments to ensure compliance with the ExxonMobil Quality specifications, API Q1 and industry standards such as API 5CT, API 5L and API 5CRA etc.,
• Conduct Pre-Production or kick-off meetings with suppliers to ensure their processes and products meet all quality requirements.
• Ensure all OCTG equipment (, Casing, Tubing and Accessories) is manufactured, inspected and tested as per ExxonMobil and API specifications.
• Organize, plan, and supervise verification programs via Third Party Inspectors (TPIs) to ensure conformance with the applicable ExxonMobil specifications and industry codes and standards.
• Ensure appropriate budget allocation for Third Party inspection agencies in collaboration with Wells Teams.
• Assist Wells Engineering staff with resolution of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Requests-for-Exception (RFEs).
• Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and failure investigations for Downhole Completion Equipment’s failures or non-conformities.
• Review TPI inspection reports, ensure outstanding concerns and issues are effectively addressed by the supplier prior to releasing the equipment for dispatch to project site locations.
• Maintain sound understanding of API specifications and ExxonMobil Quality procedures.
• Maintain strong relationships with ExxonMobil Principal Engineers, Wells team, and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
• Must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing or Equivalent) as a minimum.
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas OCTG equipment manufacturing / services in the field of Quality.
• Candidate must have a minimum CGPA of out of 10.
• Must have experience in manufacturing and inspection of casing, tubing and accessory along with maintenance, handling, preservation, storage and major certification requirements.
• Must have strong knowledge in API specifications such as API 5CT, API 5CRA, API 5L and material testing specifications such as ASTM, NACE, etc.,
• Must hold NDT Level II certification in MPT, UT, LPT, RT, and VT. Knowledgeable in MFL inspection is preferable.
• Experienced and familiar with API and proprietary premium connection (VAM, Tenaris, JFE and Hunting), rotary connection inspection and threading operations.
• Certification as a Lead Auditor to ISO 9001 or API Q1 or Q2. • Certification or welding experience (through a recognized body like AWS/CSWIP is preferable.
• Knowledge of Materials selection, processing and corrosion is preferrable. • Candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
