Western Wear Design Lead

We are hiring a Fashion Designer for a new brand. We are looking for a designer in India who can create modern Western wear designs and understands global fashion aesthetics.

The ideal candidate should be able to design in styles inspired by brands like Zara, H&M, Bershka, and also be comfortable working with Bohemian / modern western themes.

• Ability to create designs for a new D2C brand launching in the USA
• Strong sense of styling, silhouettes, fit and detailing
• Ability to work from concepts to final execution

Key Skills (Must Have)

✅ Western Design Expertise

• Zara / H&M / Bershka inspired aesthetics
• Bohemian/western modern theme understanding
• Trend-based design thinking for the US market

✅ Fabric & Material Knowledge

• Fabric selection & sourcing understanding
• Strong knowledge of textiles, prints, trims, and finishes

✅ Merchandising Understanding

• Ability to plan collections
• Seasonal drops, product mix, and SKU planning
• Price range & target customer understanding

Responsibilities

• Design western wear collections for the USA market (D2C)
• Develop moodboards, themes, and collection stories
• Work on sketches/tech packs and sample development coordination
• Finalize fabric, prints, trims, and details for each design
• Coordinate with vendors and the sampling team for prototypes
• Maintain quality, fit, and brand aesthetic consistency

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fashion designing (preferably western wear)
• Strong portfolio showing western/women’s wear designs
• Experience with international trends and D2C fashion brands is a plus
• Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and merchandising
