Job Description

We’re looking for a capable and dependable WordPress Developer to take ownership of our own website and support the delivery of smaller client projects. This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys both maintaining a core platform and delivering clean and well built client sites.

You’ll work closely with our internal creative team to improve, iterate, and maintain our website, while also building and supporting WordPress solutions for clients across a range of smaller projects.


KEY REPONSIBILITIES

INTERNAL WEBSITE

  • List Maintain, optimise, and evolve our WordPress website
  • Implement new pages, features, and templates
  • Ensure site performance, security, accessibility, and updates are well managed
  • Troubleshoot issues and manage plugins, themes, and core updates
  • Work with the SEO team to ensure the site is performing as well as possible across traditional search and EO/GEO


CLIENT PROJECTS

  • Build and customise WordPress sites for small to medium client projects
  • Translate designs and requirements into well structured WordPress builds
  • Configure themes, plugins, and custom functionality as needed
  • Support ongoing changes, fixes, and enhancements for client sites
  • Ensure best practices for performance, SEO readiness, and accessibility

YOUR SKILLS

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong experience developing with WordPress
  • Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working with custom themes and child themes
  • Familiarity with popular page builders and/or component/modular based development
  • Understanding of WordPress security, performance optimisation, and backups
  • Comfortable working with Git or other version control systems

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  • Basic understanding of technical SEO and analytics
  • Experience working in an agency or client facing environment
  • Familiarity with hosting platforms, DNS, and deployments
  • Someone willing to collaborate with the creative team on motion and interaction
  • An eye for detail and frontend polish
