YO Makerspace Trade Assistant

Position Objective

This hands-on role is designed to work with young people who may be disengaged or living with a disability, within an experiential learning environment. Your goal will be to engage participants in activities and supports aligned with their individual interests, assisting them in meeting their personal goals.

Specific Duties and Accountabilities

• Engage participants in planning and executing practical projects/activities based on their interests, to develop a diverse range of skills, abilities, and knowledge especially in basic metalwork / MIG welding, basic woodwork projects, car ownership skills and knowledge and supporting learner drivers with in car experience.
• Foster a positive learning environment where participants feel safe, comfortable, actively involved in decision-making, and can fully engage in activities.
